    How do I get a quote?
    To request a quote, you can email Mike Kmiec mkmiec@grindal.com or Ed Jean at ed@grindal.com  You can also fax your RFQ to (630) 250-7082. Or give us a call at (630) 250-8950. Don’t forget to include drawings, dimensions, materials, tolerances, surface finish, or any other special requirements.

    Are you an ISO Certified grinding shop?
    We became an ISO Certified grinding shop in the year 2004. Currently we are ISO 9001:2008 certified and we are in the process of transitioning to the new ISO 9001:2015 Standard.

    What does it mean to be ISO Certified?
    The ISO is the world’s largest developer and publisher of International Standards. For business, the widespread adoption of International Standards means that suppliers can develop and offer products and services meeting specifications that have wide international acceptance in their sectors. Businesses using international standards can compete on many more markets around the world. It is designed to unify the administration of the quality system around the world. It applies to all kinds of businesses, industries, and institutions. ISO is a network of the national standards institutes of 161 countries, one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinate the system.

    Our Mission Statement consist of the following:

    • Provide our services at a competitive price and in a timely manner
    • Provide processing assistance to each customer so that they can take maximum advantage of our technology and experience.

    What is you Corporate Quality Policy?
    There are four parts to our Corporate Quality Policy as follow:

    • We will meet or exceed our contractual obligations for product quality
    • We will deliver all products on or before the agreed delivery date
    • We will seek to continuously improve our products, processes, and quality management system effectiveness
    • We will train our personnel so that they are able to better serve our customers

    What are your capabilities and equipment capacity?
    Our capabilities and equipment capacity are as follow:

    • Our O.D. Grinding Department can grind parts from 032” to 18” in diameter by 60” long.
    • Our I.D. Grinding Department can grind parts from .250” to 18” in diameter by 14 inches deep.
    • Our Surface Grinding Department can grind parts from 1” to 32” in diameter by 10” in height and a Max. approximate table load capacity of 250Kg or 550Lbs.
    • Our multi-process I.D./O.D. Vertical Mate 85, TAIYO KOKI Vertical grinder can grind O.D.s from 1” to 31.5” and I.D.s from 2” to 31.5” by 19.2” deep and a Max. approximate table load capacity of 700Kg or 1543.24Lbs.
    • Our I.D. Honing department can hone parts from .100” to 14” diameter by 78 inches long.
    • Our reciprocating surface grinding department’ grinding capacity is W12” X L24” by 10” height. With the ability to do Dedtru Grinding which is a combination of surface and centerless grinding that gives us the flexibility to grind small parts with complex forms requiring close tolerances.
    • Our Centerless Grinding Department can grind parts from .100” to 4.500” Diameter by 18” long, Infeed, thru feed and profile.
    • Our Flat Lapping Department or Free Abrasive Machining can lap parts from .250” to 24” diameter by 3.75” thick, depending on application.

    Is there anyone I can talk to in a language other than English?
    We have personnel who can communicate fluently in Spanish and Polish.
    What is the average lead time for having projects completed?
    This will depend on the size of the order, availability of equipment, and tolerance requirements to be held. Our typical turnaround time is 10 business days.  We have a 48-hour turnaround time available for small runs, but it will depend on equipment and personnel availability. Extra set-up charges may apply.
    What kind of tolerances can you hold?
    Depending on the geometry and material of the part we can hold 0.00005” on O.D.s/I.D.s and 0.0002 on lengths. Depending on the part, material, hardness and wall thinness, our craftsmen can easily hold 0.00005 roundness under the best conditions. Cost can add up for tighter tolerances.
    What kind of tolerances can you hold and inspect?
    We can check the following tolerances:
    Form tolerances:

    • Circularity (Roundness)

    Orientation tolerances:

    • Angularity
    • Perpendicularity
