External (O.D.) Grinding
Our External (O.D.) Grinding Department is capable of grinding between centers, implement the use of chucking or collets for parts with one center or no centers at all.
External Grinding dimensions capabilities are from .032 to 18 inch diameter by 60 inches long.
Our external CNC grinders with in-process gauging and edge locating capabilities are able to grind various diameters, angles, profiles and plunges in a single operation ensuring consistency.
We believe that the only way that we can stay in business is by keeping our customers happy, get new customers and convince them that we are the best choice for their quality needs. We know that. And how do accomplish that? Well. It's all about the machinery we use, the measuring devices that we utilize, our company’s philosophy where our customers’ needs are paramount, and the people that runs your parts.
Our External (O.D.) Grinding Department is equipped with ten precision grinding machines. Four of them are the very dependable Swiss made Tschudins manual machines. The rest are all CNC (computerized numerical control) from different manufacturers including the American made Cincinnati Milacron 480 (14.5" Dia. by 60" in legth), the Siwiss made Tschudin HTG-52 (6" by 15"), four Japanese made Mitsubishis, that includes our newest, the Mitsubishi PD32 (12.5" by 40"), two Mitsubishi RD23s (5.9" by 13.8"), and the straight type Mitsubishi RC32 (12.5" by 40"). All of our CNCs have a built-in programmable locator, automatic Marposs sizing gauges, and automatic SBS Wheel Balancing System.
When it comes to measuring your parts we use only the best. Etalon micrometers, Interapid and Mitutoyo indicators are standard in our operators’ tool boxes. Our quality control room is equipped with Etalon Dial Micrometers, American made Sheffields, Federal snap gages, and Hommel Tester Profilometers (for micro finish accurate reading from Rz., Ra., Rpc., and Rq. to Rk, Rpk, Rbk and Rms. Results in metric or inches ) to name a few. All of our measuring devices are calibrated in accordance with our quality manual based on the ISO 9001-2008 standards.

The magnification of silhouttes where we check the dimensions and geometry of your parts.
A company can have the latest precision grinding technology, or the most accurate measuring devices, but without the right people to operate them and make a finish part all of that becomes meaningless. Our operators have been trained to take advantage of these instruments to achieve the highest possible quality. But making quality parts is not all we do. When a set-up is done and we a make a good part we don’t stop there. What we do is optimized that set-up to conserve quality while doing it faster and that gives us more room to offer better prices without sacrificing quality.
Our philosophy is simple; accurate and dependable machines, accurate measuring devices, the implementation of a quality management system, and the right quality oriented people to run your parts.
